A yogi trained in the Iyengar tradition, Kalā offers one-on-one yoga lessons rooted in precision and deep energetic awareness. Iyengar is known for its rigor — refining familiar poses into powerful tools for transformation.

Her practice bridges “exercise yoga” with an inner ritual. This makes makes Avani Yoga a natural complement to healings from Miko.

Why the partnership?

Deep spiritual healing outside of allopathic medicine is an integrated endeavour. Coming in for energetic sessions with Miko will heal a lot in the body. However, some things need to be “stretched out” with a Yoga specialist. After coming in with a session with me, I send your healing case to Kalā, recommending areas to be worked on. With her expertise, she helps extract negative and stagnant energies in those areas.

Further, Kalā, having grown up in Hawai’i, has a deep connection to the land and is a channel for genuine, transformative healing.

During the mornings and evenings, Kalā leads yoga sessions. During the afternoons, the studio turns into a palace of fine goods. She carries brands like AG Jeans and Handcrafted Mala jewelry. She grew up in Hilo. She retired from a fashion career in Seattle, New York, and LA. In 2006, she began her yoga practice, learning Sanskrit and Yogic philosophy — and a student of Orit Sen-Gupta. Kalā returned to Hawai’i in 2015 to teach yoga and sell fine fashion.
